Customer Service Job Hunting
Customer service jobs can be the most rewarding and the most
frustrating career choice on the planet. This is one reason
employers try to be very careful about the type of person they
hire for these positions. You will need patience, a cool head
and above all the ability to satisfy the customer if at all
possible! That is a tall order, but it can be done. If you have
decided you would like to be employed in this field there are a
few things you can do that will make your application stand out
above all the rest.
When you think you want to go into customer service,
volunteer. Local churches, hospitals and even some nursing
homes have a variety of volunteer positions you could fill.
This will give you experience dealing with people in a variety
of situations plus it looks great on the resume.
Interview
During your interview, you need to do one thing above all
others, that is look your prospective employer in the eye and
answer all questions completely and honestly. When you are
forthright with the employer, they can have confidence that you
will meet the customer with the same respect. Looking someone
in the eye conveys honesty and attentiveness, two things you
will need in spades when it comes to working in customer
service.
